SHERIDAN, WY - Beloved Sheridan Police Officer Sgt. Nevada Krinkee was killed in the line of duty February 13 while serving a trespass warrant. The shooting lead to a standoff with a barricaded suspect that lasted more than 30 hours, resulting in the suspect's death.
Today, the city of Sheridan is gathering to celebrate the life of a man who made a large impact on his community. Sheridan College in Wyoming streamed the service and the video can be found here. NewsCenter1 is proud to be able to bring you this video.

UPDATE February 22 - The Sheridan Police Department has released details for the Celebration of Life services honoring Sgt. Nevada Krinkee, who lost his life in the line of duty. The community is invited to participate and pay their respects during this solemn occasion.
Event Details:
A Celebration of Life with Police Honors is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Friday, March 1, at the Golden Dome on the campus of Sheridan College.
Procession Route:
A procession will precede the ceremony, commencing at noon (12 p.m.) at 11th and Main Street. The procession will travel south to Coffeen Avenue and proceed to the entrance of Sheridan College, concluding at the Golden Dome. Community members are encouraged to line the procession route to honor Sgt. Krinkee's service and sacrifice.
Private Interment:
Following the Celebration of Life, a private interment will be held at Sheridan College only open to family and close friends.
UPDATE February 14 5:12 p.m. - Sheridan Police issued a statement that the standoff had ended and there was no more danger from the situation.
"As of 5:12 p.m., the standoff on N. Sheridan Avenue has ended. There are no threats to our community.
Please refer any questions to the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation throughout this event."
UPDATE February 14, 1 p.m. - Sheridan Police Department stated that the situation was still unresolved as of this morning at 9 a.m.
Sheridan Mayor Rich Bridger issued the following statement:
"We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Police Sergeant Nevada Krinkee, who was killed in the line of duty while selflessly serving our community. His loss serves as a solemn and heartbreaking reminder of the risks our law enforcement officers face every day. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sergeant Krinkee’s family, loved ones, the Sheridan Police Department, and other first responders during this difficult time.
We ask that the community respect the privacy of Sergeant Krinkee’s family and the first responders who were involved."

UPDATE February 13, 5 p.m. - WyomingSenator Cynthia Lummis issued the following statement about the officer's death.
“My heart breaks for the family and loved ones of Sgt. Nevada Krinkee who was killed in the line of duty,” said Lummis. “Wyoming law enforcement put their lives on the line every day to protect our communities, and this is the solemn reminder of the dangers they face serving the Cowboy State. My prayers are with all of those mourning this tragic and senseless loss and with the Sheridan Police Department as it works to bring the suspect into custody.”
SHERIDAN, WY - Sgt. Nevada Krinkee, a dedicated six-and-a-half-year veteran of the Sheridan Police Department, lost his life while attempting to serve a trespass warning near the intersection of 5th Street and Val Vista Street.
Sgt. Krinkee was transported to Sheridan Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The incident occurred as the male subject fled the scene but was later located in the vicinity of 6th and N. Sheridan Avenue. Law enforcement agencies, including the Sheridan Police Department, Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office, and the Wyoming Highway Patrol, swiftly established a perimeter.
The subject barricaded himself inside a residence, leading to evacuations of nearby residents. The Gillette Police Department's tactical unit and Crisis Negotiators joined efforts to address the standoff, which remains active.
The Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation will assume control of the investigation, with further updates provided by the DCI Public Information Officer.
